About Wretched Love is a piano work presenting various aspects of love as
experienced by a certain man, and also by every man
for that matter. The composition expresses pronounced
sorrow towards the unjust, wretched love. Initially the
feeling charms with delight, it gives apparent happiness,
casts a spell, and makes the man crazy about her, but
then it passes away as if on purpose, leaving behind only
loss, pain and great emotional distress. There is sadness
and sorrow, but also fear of making yet another attempt
to love someone. The fear of suffering again when
everything has settled down. That is why this love is so
wretched. All starts well, but finishes badly. Love would
be amazing if it were always, from beginning to end,
as pure and sincere as only the most true love can be.
